Intention Based Shipping or peer to peer shipping is a fairly new concept, a new way of shipping anything from letters to furniture. Basically how it works is: if you are traveling anywhere in your car or truck there is usually some free space in your boot or back seat. Fill that space up with a few things that need to be delivered to the location you are heading to and earn a few extra dollars.

This type of service saves money for people who need items shipped and earn the person doing the shipping some extra cash. It can also save money when going overseas since there are people looking to transport items from one country to another also (with caution obviously).

Uship is probably the best known US marketplace where people bid in Ebay style on shipments (this is mainly for bigger things such as cars, boats, housemoving etc).
Citizenshipper is a newer, also US based site which will hopefully grow and is geared more towards more local, smaller deliveries.
Dubai has a site also geared towards the Arab world at Darrb.com.

Hopefully this idea will grow in time and be available in more countries.
