The Work From Home Blog

Make money on Facebook

Here is something for you if you like to spend time on FaceBook. It is an application called ClowdCrowd. It allows you to choose from a few available jobs which include things like editing text or categorizing products (much like Amazon’s Mturk). You won’t get rich doing this as most jobs pay just a dollar or two but if much of your day is spent checking Facebook messages anyway, then this is something worth looking into. Take a look at CloudCrowd.

Make money creating educational content

Seemile is a new education marketplace where you can upload voice or video files of your lectures. You can set your own price and upon anyone purchasing it you will get paid, minus some commission which is kept by the site.
The site is still very new and obviously this is not an opportunity that will appeal to everyone but if you are able to teach a topic it could be worth giving the site a try.

Ask for donations on your blog with TipJoy

There are quiet a few ways to monetize a blog and asking for tips or donations is one of them. TipJoy is a site that makes it very easy to accept donations (or even sell digital goods) not just through your blog but also Twitter, Facebook, YouTube and just about anywhere else you can think of. Tipjoy also makes it easier to accept smaller donations without Paypal fees eating up all of it so people can even send payment that are under $1 which is sure to encourage giving :) .

Bukisa - A new revenue share site with extra benefits

Bukisa is a new site where you can share your knowledge and get paid. Although there is nothing new or revolutionary about this (I have a list of similar sites in other posts) Bukisa has an extra feature with lots of potential. You can refer users and create a network. A user that owns a network will not only enjoy the revenue sharing of their work, but will also profit from their network friends’ revenue sharing. A little bit like network marketing - the more people you refer the more money you can make.
The only problem at the moment is that as far as I can tell you can only invite people by email, not through a referral link. Which kind of limits your earning potential, or at least makes it a lot less automated. Hopefully they will introduce affiliate links in the future.

Another way to monetize your tweets

I have written about making money on Twitter before and now here is another company offering Twitter users a way to monetize their Tweets. The company is called Magpies and they blend ads into your message stream: 5 tweets to one ad. There is a #magpies marker at the beginning of sponsored messages.

I am already seeing a few of the people I follow using this so I am wondering if it will take off. It remains to be seen if people sending out ads in their tweets will retain their followers. I can see people going overboard and tweeting non stop in order to get more sponsored ads in. Useless non stop tweets makes me un-follow a person immediately. But perhaps used in moderation this could be a way to make a few extra dollars.

Pakt - A new revenue share tutorials site

If you enjoy revenue share sites such as Squidoo you may like Pakt. Pakt is a collaborative learning site where you can answer questions, write tutorials or mentor people. The site pays a percentage of the advertising revenue your tutorials generate. The site accepts tutorials on just about any topic from how to make yogurt to helping your dog get through a thunderstorm.

Earn a few extra dollars with Intention Based Shipping

Intention Based Shipping or peer to peer shipping is a fairly new concept, a new way of shipping anything from letters to furniture. Basically how it works is: if you are traveling anywhere in your car or truck there is usually some free space in your boot or back seat. Fill that space up with a few things that need to be delivered to the location you are heading to and earn a few extra dollars.

Get paid to answer questions

StudentOfFourtune is a homework help site where some people are earning good money by answering students’ questions. The most popular question category is maths but there are many other categories too including art and business. Many people are generating decent revenue by simply selling the same answers over and over again.

Something you might at first find confusing is that the word “Answered” is written next to most open questions. This means you can still answer them however and the buyer will choose which answer he wants to buy. He decides which answer to buy based on a small preview of answers available. Student Of Fortune acts as the broker and handles payment.

While this is a fairly new and not yet a very busy site, it is one worth keeping an eye on.

Yes you can even make money on Twitter now

I came across Twittad.com the other day which is a site where people can sell advertising space on their Twitter profile pages. Some of the people selling ad space have as little as 20 followers so there doesn’t seem to be minimum. While I saw one ad that was charging $1000 for 7 days of advertising (!), the average price seems to be around the $10-$20/month range.

Make money by finding people jobs

Australia only
2vouch is a new job site where you can receive a finders fee for referring someone who is right for the particular job that was advertised. It seems to be mainly IT jobs so if you work in the IT field or know someone who does, this might be an opportunity for you. With many of the finder’s fees being close to the $2,000 mark per job it is definitely worth a try.
