Your business card can have a powerful effect on your small business. Being such a common thing, it can sometimes be taken for granted and even somewhat neglected at times. However it can be your visual brand, the thing that people will make decisions about you by before they even meet you. The more likely it is to portray the right image and be remembered the more likely it is that you will be getting some new (and possibly even more importantly repeat) business.

Buying an established web site is slightly more expensive then what some of you want to spend in order to start earning a living from home. But if you find the right web site it can be money very well spent. Established sites can sometimes go for as little as $100, simply because their owners have had to sell it for one reason or another.
Quickly some advantages of buying an established site:
– The idea, domain name, the design and some content is already taken care of and you don’t need to spend time or money in acquiring these.

Bukisa is a new site where you can share your knowledge and get paid. Although there is nothing new or revolutionary about this (I have a list of similar sites in other posts) Bukisa has an extra feature with lots of potential. You can refer users and create a network. A user that owns a network will not only enjoy the revenue sharing of their work, but will also profit from their network friends’ revenue sharing. A little bit like network marketing – the more people you refer the more money you can make.
The only problem at the moment is that as far as I can tell you can only invite people by email, not through a referral link. Which kind of limits your earning potential, or at least makes it a lot less automated. Hopefully they will introduce affiliate links in the future.

I have written about making money on Twitter before and now here is another company offering Twitter users a way to monetize their Tweets. The company is called Magpies and they blend ads into your message stream: 5 tweets to one ad. There is a #magpies marker at the beginning of sponsored messages.

I am already seeing a few of the people I follow using this so I am wondering if it will take off. It remains to be seen if people sending out ads in their tweets will retain their followers. I can see people going overboard and tweeting non stop in order to get more sponsored ads in. Useless non stop tweets makes me un-follow a person immediately. But perhaps used in moderation this could be a way to make a few extra dollars.

If you enjoy revenue share sites such as Squidoo you may like Pakt. Pakt is a collaborative learning site where you can answer questions, write tutorials or mentor people. The site pays a percentage of the advertising revenue your tutorials generate. The site accepts tutorials on just about any topic from how to make yogurt to helping your dog get through a thunderstorm.

Intention Based Shipping or peer to peer shipping is a fairly new concept, a new way of shipping anything from letters to furniture. Basically how it works is: if you are traveling anywhere in your car or truck there is usually some free space in your boot or back seat. This is just a quick update about a new network launching – AddsYou. It is a social publishing network that pays you for content. It is currently handing out alpha invites (there is about 80 left).
